Gym arial view

Dear USD 105 Community,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. It is hard to believe that our school year is completed!! Thank you to our community for your continued support!! Below is an update on the construction project, which is starting to take shape.

For reference, the north side of the project is located north of the existing gym, and the south side is located south of the existing gym.

North Side of the Project

The steel structure has been installed. It was exciting to watch the beams of the gym being installed. They were the largest crane picks of the project and a major milestone in construction.

The concrete slab on the metal deck for the weight and band rooms has been poured. Today, they are pouring the walking track and are completing the handrail.

The exterior framing is expected to begin soon, along with the roof installation.

South Side of the Project

The exterior sheathing is complete. They are completing the air barrier, with masonry scheduled to begin on the east side of the building.

Interior framing is nearly complete on the first floor. The second floor is set to begin once the RTU units are placed on the roof. This should be completed by the end of the week.

Existing Gym

The front windows have been replaced. The new front doors are on order and will be set once they arrive. Inside, interior framing is completed on the front classrooms, with rough-in of the mechanical systems beginning this week.

AG Shop

The former wrestling room, current weight room, will be renovated this summer into the new art room. That work is set to begin next week. The weight room will be relocated to the elementary school's custodial room for the duration of construction. Rob and his team have done an excellent job of cleaning and preparing the new weight room for summer weights to begin after Memorial Day.

It is exciting to see the continued progress at the construction site. The project is moving forward, and we look forward to watching the new facilities begin to take shape.

Thank you for your continued support of our school district and this important project.

Sincerely,

Eric Stoddard
