Areal image of the new site

Dear USD 105 Community,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I would like to provide an update on the construction progress and share a few photos from the week of February 2. (Please note that additional progress has been made since the photos were taken.)

For reference, the north side of the project is located north of the existing gym, and the south side is located south of the existing gym.

North Side of the Project

Work on the new gym continues to move forward. All concrete foundation walls have been installed, with the exception of the northeast corner, which has been left open temporarily to allow access to the gym. Rough-in plumbing is currently underway, and rough-in electrical work is scheduled to begin soon, along with the installation of the interior concrete wall.

Now that the foundation walls are in place, waterproofing, drain tile installation, and wall insulation will follow. Once these steps are complete, backfilling will occur, and work can begin on the building pad for the Junior-Senior High portion of the project.

South Side of the Project

Steel erection began several weeks ago and continues to progress. Crews are currently installing miscellaneous metals and roof decking. Metal decking will soon be installed on the second floor, allowing rough-in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work to begin. After these systems are in place, concrete crews will prepare and pour the second-floor slab.

Existing Gym

The new roof installation on the existing gym has been completed. Renovations to the classrooms located in front of the gym are scheduled to begin around Spring Break, following the conclusion of basketball season. This work will continue through the summer, with an anticipated completion date near the start of the next school year, though we do not know how we will be allowed to use the gym at this time.

It is encouraging to see the project back on track. All concrete strength testing has met required specifications, and construction is continuing as planned.

Thank you for your continued support of our school district and this important project.

Sincerely,

Eric Stoddard
