Dear USD 105 Community,

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful summer! As we prepare for another exciting school year, I wanted to share a few important updates.

Enrollment is quickly approaching and will be held August 4 - 6. Our staff continues to prepare our buildings for the return of employees on August 14 and students on August 19. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back. Our schools simply are not the same without the energy and excitement that our students and staff bring each day.

Construction Update

Construction continues to make excellent progress across all areas of the project. We appreciate everyone's patience and support as we move closer to completion.

North Side of the Project

Significant progress has been made on the new junior-senior high addition.

• Concrete footings have been completed.

• Plumbing rough-ins for the cafetorium and the south classroom area are complete, with work continuing in the northern portion of the building.

• Electrical rough-in work is also progressing and is expected to be completed soon.

• Preparation for the concrete floor slabs is underway. Weather permitting, concrete pours are scheduled for next week, beginning on the east side and progressing west through the music room, stage, cafetorium/kitchen, and then south to north across the front of the new school.

Work on the new gymnasium also continues to move forward.

• Structural steel framing and exterior enclosure are ongoing.

• Roofing has been completed on the new weight room, band room, and gymnasium.

• While the June storms caused some damage to the gym roof, repairs have been completed and construction remains on schedule.

• Rooftop HVAC units have been installed on the east-side addition.

Interior construction for the weight room, band room, wrestling room, and locker rooms is expected to begin soon.

South Side of the Project

Construction of the new elementary school continues to advance.

• Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins are ongoing throughout the building.

• Interior finishing work is expected to begin in late July or early August.

• Masonry work is nearing completion.

• Installation of the exterior metal wall panels continues.

• Window installation on the east side is substantially complete, with only second-floor access areas remaining. Installation is now moving to the south side of the building.

Existing Gym and Classroom Renovations

Renovations inside the existing building continue to make steady progress.

• Mechanical rough-ins and drywall installation are ongoing in the classroom areas.

• First-floor finishing work has begun and crews will move to the second floor once drywall installation is complete.

• In the gymnasium, installation of the overhead fire sprinkler system continues.

At this time, we anticipate having the gymnasium available for school practices at the beginning of the school year.

Vo-Ag Shop / New Art Room

The renovation of the new art room is progressing well.

• Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins have been completed.

• New windows have been installed.

• Drywall finishing is underway.

• Priming and the first coat of paint are scheduled for next week.

We expect the art room to be ready for students and staff when school begins in August.
