Animals visit the Rawlins County Elementary School

    On Tuesday, January 15 th a snake, two bats, & a ferret visited the Rawlins County Grade School from the Rolling Hills Zoo.  This was made possible by a Dane G. Hansen grant and the program called “Zoo to You”.  This program is free to all schools in Northwest Kansas.  Grades K-8 enjoyed taking turns learning about  these three animals and about how all animals use . . .

2019 Art Awards

  The following students won awards in the 2019 Scholastic Art & Writing Show presented by The Western Kansas Scholastic Art Awards. The Rawlins County Junior High and High School Art students submitted their work electronically and their work was judged in a "blind" judging process  (names/schools were not identified at the time of judging)  by four judges following national guidelines. Hayden Family donated books

  Thanks to the generous donation of the Hayden Family, Katy Hayden donated 16 of the  The Time That Was: The Second Forty Years 1914-1955  books written by Ruth Kelly Hayden to the Rawlins County JH Local Studies class taught by Ami Klein. This elective class teaches the students the history of Rawlins County using Ruth Kelly Hayden's books,  The History of Rawlins County Kansas v. 1-4, . . .
