Kansas Cosmosphere Presentations
The Hutchinson Cosmosphere received a Dane Hansen Foundation grant to provide outreach to school districts in Northwest Kansas. They presented at the JR-SR High School on Wednesday, December 13th & the Elementary School on Thursday the 14th. There were six sessions consisting of Rocketry, Moon Phases, Air Rockets, The video “Magical Desolation”, & Solar System Bracelet. The Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center brought their traveling planetarium which is staffed by Kitty Hemmert. Each class rotated through the six sessions so they could participate in everything. At the end of the day everyone went to the football bleachers to watch the Cosmosphere team launch a large trash can into the air. It was a great ending to an interesting day.
