Kansas Supreme Court

Hello!

I am happy to announce that KS Supreme Court Justice Lee A. Johnson will visit Rawlins County Jr./Sr. High School on the afternoon of Monday, April 9th at 2pm for approximately one hour. Information regarding Justice Johnson can be found at http://www.kscourts.org/kansas-courts/supreme-court/justice-bios/johnson.asp. Accompanying Justice Johnson will be District Magistrate Judge James Schroeder of the 15th Judicial District. Judge Schroeder sits in Atwood.

The KS Supreme Court will conduct a special evening session Monday, April 9th at the Colby High School as part of its ongoing outreach to familiarize Kansans with the high court, its work, and the overall role of the KS judiciary. The court will be in session from approximately 6:30-8pm. It will be the Supreme Court's first visit to Colby in the court's 157 year history, and it will be only the eighth time that the court will hear cases in the evening. After the hearing concludes, the justices will greet the public in an informal reception in the commons area adjacent to the auditorium. Information on the two cases to be heard by the court that evening can be found at:

 http://www.kscourts.org/Cases-and-Opinions/Traveling-Dockets/Supreme-Court-Traveling-Docket.asp

I will be taking interested HS students to go see the evening session in Colby.

Additional information regarding the KS court system may be located at the Kansas Judicial Branch website - http://www.kscourts.org/default.asp. From that page, click on the "Kansas Courts" tab at the top of the page and scroll down the menu.
