Robotics Competition at FHSU

Six 8th grade students from Rawlins County competed in the 12th annual Western Kansas Lego Robotics Competition that was held at FHSU on Friday, April 28th. Kathryn Hurst competed in the "Clear the Field" event where she built and programmed her robot to remove three plastic cups from a square white map outlined with black tape as quickly as possible. She competed well but did not advance to the finals. Kierstyn Domsch, Ben Crouse, Cyrus Green, Travis Chavatl, and Laustat Chessmore programmed and built their robots to compete in an elimination style Sumo match. The Sumo Bots event is very popular and has tough competition. Ben and Laustat were the only two to advance to the second round, but sadly lost some hard fought matches! All of the students did a great job competing and represented Rawlins County well!!
