Parent Survey Deadline Feb. 13th
Kansas Character Ed Initiative
USD 105 has been involved with the Kansas Character Ed initiative for the last three years teaching our 9th grade students Character Ed skills such as communication, listening and problem solving. In order for USD 105 to continue to receive funding we must have 20% of Rawlins County Jr/Sr High parents complete the CEEA (Culture of Excellence and Ethics Assessment) survey. We have completed the first two steps by having our students and faculty complete the surveys. We are asking for your assistance in completing the final steps in the funding process by completing the parent survey by February 13, 2012. Through your support and input our students and USD 105 will be invited to apply for funding. Thank you in advance for your participation.
Respectfully,
Delbert Schmidt
RCHS Principal

The Office of Safe and Healthy Students (OSHE, formerly known as the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools) awarded the S3 grant to KS in October 2010. The general goal of the grant is to improve school climate (safety, engagement and environment) in high schools. As such, serving students in grades 9-12 (including those building operating under the Junior and Senior High model) is the first criteria for S3 funding eligibility. The second and third criteria are participation in the 2012 Kansas Communities That Care (KCTC) Survey for students and the Culture of Excellence and Ethics Assessment (CEEA) for parents and staff, respectively.
The KCTC Survey is administered through the Southwest Kansas Educational Service Center (SEKESC) each year during the school day in December and January.
The CEEA is administered through the Institute for Excellence and Ethics (Lafayette, New York) and has been used by KDSE to collect data for the Partnership in Character Education Program (PCEP) Grant.
