The 2007-2008 FFA Officer retreat began at the Rawlins County High School on August 9th and they headed toward the mountains. After driving to Grand Lake, CO. the officers spent the next three days getting to know each other through team building drills, problem solving exercises, and good old fashion fun. Friday the 10th the group hiked up the mountain to discuss the upcoming year events and changes. They even spotted a moose and her baby.
Saturday the 11th they traveled to Buena Vista, CO. to go on a 10 mile white water rafting adventure, which was very exciting and cold. During this activity they demonstrated team work as they navigated through the rapids of the Arkansas River. That night they ate s’mores and celebrated the journey they had joining them together. They returned home Sunday both excited about the upcoming year and tired from four days filled with anticipation and activities. The 2007-2008 Chapter Officers are Cody Klein ~ President, Laura Wolters ~ Vice president, Sara Miller ~ Student Advisor, Keegan Peckham ~ Secretary, Mark Green ~ Treasurer, Sierra Lowry ~ Reporter, Elijah Kastens ~ Sentinel, and Jordan Mizer ~ Stucco Rep.. The sponsors for the trip were Heath Klein and FFA Advisor, Amber Sharpe.
